“I never have to worry about this life because I know who has my back” sounds like such a Christian cliche but it’s not, and it’s hard to remember when the storms of life both literally and figuratively come sweeping through. Satan tempts and distracts and tries to lead us astray, but I know that my God stays and is with me. King David wrote in Psalms 139:5 “You have enclosed me behind and before, And [You have] placed Your hand upon me.” His hand is on me, His favor is on me, so why wouldn’t I have a target on my back, why wouldn’t WE have a target on our backs. When our Messiah bore the slashes on His and we follow in His footsteps why wouldn’t that make the enemy angry? When the enemy keeps attacking keep your ground, hold your position and keep fighting on! The strength of the Holy Spirit that dwells and fills you and protects you is the same Spirit that hovered above the water and the same Spirit that resurrected Jesus! Don’t get it twisted, life will give us struggles, life will give us pain but we have to have the courage to keep getting up and keep walking, keep praying and keep our gaze fixed on Christ.
